Cut pieces of different sizes from a hexagonal (room scent, candy...) or round cardboard boxes.
Cut out of cardboard (or plastic as here) end pieces; 2 pieces 1 mm larger than the end of the tube and 1 piece 2 mm larger. Glue one of the smaller ones in the middle of the larger one.
Cover the cardboard tubes with contact plastic or sticker paper. Glue the end pieces in place, the double one becomes the base.
